FAQs

  • Yes I’ve illustrated 5 children’s books. Some were privately published but you can purchase Zola, Peace President and The Fashion Sisters online from their respective authors.

    1. Consultation - Hop on a phone or video call to discuss what your story is about, what you want your characters to look like and how many illustrations you had in mind.

    2. Payment - Children’s books are time intense and require financial commitment up front. Payment can be made in installments, but must be full paid before project completion.

    3. Character Design - I will send over sketches of any main characters based on the details you provided. This will include several hair and coloring options for you to choose from.

    4. Rough Drafts - Based on the details you provided in the consultation I will provide rough sketches for how each page will be laid out. This is a chance for you to offer feedback early.

    5. Line Art - Based on your feedback, I will provide clean outlines for your illustrations. This will give you a chance to add or remove details before coloring

    6. Color - Once the layout and details are confirmed, I will provided the final illustrated versions of each page. Please note, only minor changes are allowed at this stage.

    7. Completion - Once all illustrations are complete I will provide all final files in the desired format (jpg/png/pdf) and you will receive a certificate of project completion.

  • It depends! There is a lot of back and forth involved in designing a children’s book. You share your vision, I send back a sketch, you share your feedback, etc…Past projects have ranged between 2 and 6 months.

  • You will be given access to a google drive folder where images can be uploaded and directly commented on.

    Separate subfolders will be created for sketches, flat color and full color illustrations.

  • No. My prices are based on my skill as an artist and the time needed to complete a piece. The number of people and the amount of detail in a picture impact the time needed for completion and that is reflected in the final price.

    Children’s books in particular tend to have a lot of background details like a bedroom, park or school and may require several edits to match the authors vision.
